“I have always been a creative. As a child in the hot Texas summers, I loved to walk the neighborhood with a picnic basket full of sketching supplies at the ready for any inspiration. I still feel that youthful curiosity when I design.”
Problem solving and a strong work ethic are deep rooted in Dawn’s persona. She has been designing anything she can get her hands on her entire life. “It started with my childhood bedroom, but my favorite interior was my 72nd Street walk-up in New York City. I spent every penny I made on an olive suede sofa! I loved that piece.”
A transplant from Houston, Dawn lived and worked in New York through 9/11, witnessing a lot of transformation. Creating memorable events for MoMA and Cooper-Hewitt and her unfiltered access to art, artists, and collectors’ homes shaped her visual aesthetic.
Dawn maintains her philanthropic career designing strategies and identities for extensive fundraising campaigns. With a degree in Art History and Graphic Design, she has recently added Interior Architecture and Design Studies to her resume. “It’s a great feeling to share your ideas with other accomplished designers. It adds a whole new dimension to the work.”
