Personality at Play.
For a family of five in a home in the Texas Hill country, a kitchen redesign accommodates all the activities of a full life, which means that every day is a Sunday, a day for fun. A large family requires plenty of seating. Activity zones provide space for cooking dinner, watching football, doing homework or making cookies. The authentic local charm is reflected with native clay-covered interior walls and a ceiling of reclaimed Douglas Fir. The plastered range hood blends seamlessly with the walls, the cohesive swath of calacatta gold marble counters and back splash shine. A native pecan-topped island accommodates a crowd and lends a handcrafted feeling to the room. Playful art and emerald glass front refrigerators add personality to this kid-friendly kitchen.
what if you design multiple activity zones custom to client use?
why not source local materials, and use regional furnishings and art to add authentic charm?

An activity zones that stands out.
Designed with kids in mind, a separate baking and snack zone was incorporated with a lower counter, separate beverage fridge and roll- out cabinets for snacks. A built-in coffee system and cup- warming drawer free up the counter so it can function as a place for fun and creativity.

Artwork should have an attitude. It can tell stories that add more layers to the interior. It’s the good stuff that makes everything about designing fun.
Locally sourced furnishings crafted from sustainable heritage materials create a sense of warmth and charm.
